This database of reports and maps issued by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) currently contains more than 70,000 bibliographic citations and full product and thematic map content for over 40,000 publications. Many of these products are available online and are free of charge. Numbered series published as early as 1880 are available for such products as water-data reports, maps, science reports, circulars, bulletins, professional papers, and hydrologic, mineral, and geophysical investigations and field studies. Citations and online documents are added regularly. Basic search options consist of a title and/or author search using keywords. Advanced search options include the ability to search only online documents, text in title search, year or range of year, author's first or last name, USGS publication series and number, and a number of options for sorting search results. Availability of content ranges from full text to bibliographic citation only.
