Each is described in terms of shape, composition, and eruption type, and links are available to additional information. Subordinate types listed include fissure eruptions, spatter cones, hornitos, and hydrovolcanic eruptions. The site also explains when a volcano is considered active, dormant, or extinct. In addition, generic features such as vent, central vent, edifice, magma chamber, parasitic cones, and fumaroles are listed and described.
