These lessons, developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) Haystack Observatory, incorporate several different disciplines (physics, astronomy, chemistry) and focus on the radio astronomy research that takes place at the observatory. Students will learn about the concepts and technologies used at Haystack, while enriching their science knowledge. Units cover such topics as waves in motion, space weather, matter in space, and many others. There are also suggestions for projects that use a small radio telescope, solar and geomagnetic investigations, and information on field trips to the observatory.
