This site is a table of crystallography groups. The table is composed of 32 classes of symmetry derived from observations of the external crystal form. From these 32 classes, 230 space groups are distinguishable using x-ray analysis. The site also features 3-D rotating examples of crystalline forms for each symmetry class. The illustrations are helpful for visualizing crystal forms.

This site consists of an introductory lecture on crystal symmetry and symmetry operations. It provides the definition of a mineral and then covers topics including different types of rotational symmetry, mirror symmetry, the center of symmetry, different types of rotoinversion, and combinations of symmetry operations. Drawings help illustrate the concepts presented in the lecture.

This site provides a detailed look at the crystal structure and compositional variations of amphiboles. Also discussed are ways to assess the quality of analyses from looking at the stoichiometry of mineral formulas, how to estimate ferric iron, and special considerations affecting formula recalculation. A 3-D model of the mineral's structure is also included.
