News-Opps framework - all versions

Framework purpose

The purpose of the news and opportunities metadata framework is to describe events or time-sensitive resources that have specific start and end dates and are of an interest to the DLESE community as a whole (e.g. grants, workshops, scholarships, conferences, etc.).

Current version

Version 1.0.00 is the current version and is the version collection builders should use in order to contribute a news an opportunities collection to DLESE.

• June 2004 - version 1.0.00 release - beta - tyring to finalize vocabularies and remaining structure updates
• Mar 2004 - version 0.1.01 - major upgrade of the May 2002 framework; now enforces controlled vocabularies and required metadata
• May 2002 - version May 2002 - release of a news and opportunities schema in order to be OAI compliant
