Lassen Peak, California
This site contains information about Lassen Peak, a stratovolcano with a volcanic dome in the Cascade Range. The site features links to all aspects of the volcano, such as its geographic setting, and geologic and eruptive history. The site explains that it is one of the youngest major Cascade volcanoes and that most of the mountain is a single mass of dacite rock, emplaced in a relatively short time. It is also the only volcano in the 48 conterminous United States, besides Mount St. Helens, to have erupted in the 20th century. Links labeled 'Special Items of Interest' include information about volcanic highlights and features, and points of interest. Other links lead to maps, graphics, images, publications, reports, and other items of interest involving this volcano and others.
