Volcanoes Learning Module
This volcanic mountain building unit was designed to be used with a college course in physical geography. Subjects covered in this module include: the relationship between plate tectonics and igneous activity, intrusive and extrusive igneous activity, the products of volcanic activity, the relationship between types of volcanoes and magma composition, and a special section devoted to the eruption of Mt. St. Helens. The module contains a study guide and outline notes, a tutorial and study questions, an on-line lab exercise, and practice quizzes. One feature of the module is a web exploration section with links to twenty outside sites that augment the instruction.
