This website explains in great detail what the universe is and helps students to figure out this abstract concept. The site creates a great way for students to interact with maps, planets, and constellations. The text is easy to follow and students can work by themselves or with a partner. The site also asks the students engaging questions. Under each category it gives the students a glimpse of what the universe is and the things in it.

This website is a great resource for educators, students, and even parents. The MN Academic Standard that this website focuses on is Space Science. A resource like this will be beneficial to students because it is interactive and adapts to childrens level of comprehension. There was an option on this website that I haven't seen on any other website, it gave the option to enlarge the text. This is a great adaptation to student's who may be struggling readers. Activities, puzzles and worksheets are available to complete on the website or to print off for use in the classroom. Student's can choose the topic of the word puzzle that they want to comlete. If the student begins to struggle with the puzzle that they choose, the website offers to give hints. Student's would be able to explore this website on their own and develop an understanding of constellations, the planets, as well as many other topics that deal with the universe. An entire unit could be planned based off of this website because of the wide variety of information it provides the teachers and students. This website also provides a completed calendar of which days of the month you will see a full moon and what planets are visible during that month. I plan on using this website as a resource when I introduce a unit on the universe.
