This resource is used in the Mountain Building Teaching Box, Lesson 4, activity 1, 'Rock Types'. Mountain Building in the Desert: Part 3 is used as background material for students to familiarize themselves with the rock cycle as it applies to the Mid-Tertiary Deformation in the mountains of southern Arizona.
