This resource is used in the 'Living in Earthquake Country' Teaching Box, Lesson 5: 'A Whole Lot of Shakin' Goin' On!'. It is used as background for teachers to describe Dr. Charles F. Richter's magnitude scale for expressing the seismic energy released by an earthquake.
