This portal links selected United States Geological Survey (USGS) online resources to an established list of content standards for the state of California. Standards data is extracted from state documents 'California Content Standards for California Public Schools: Kindergarten Through Grade Twelve' with consideration of 'Science Framework for California Public Schools: Kindergarten Through Grade Twelve'. Resources from a selection of other science agencies and from USGS collaborative organizations are also included. Links are arranged by grade level and by standards type. There is also a link to a page of California resources which provides access to selected examples of maps and educational reference materials arranged by subject category: geography, physiographic provinces, geology, energy, minerals, natural hazards, climate, and others.
