At Work in the Ocean DLESE Reviewed Collection
This CD contains material for a series of live interactive Internet events during the 1999-2000 field seasons of the National Geographic Society's Sustainable Seas Expeditions. The three curriculum units on this CD feature clips, Web chat Q and A, labs, activities, and related resources materials. The units have also been mapped to National Science Education Standards, California, Texas, and Florida science standards. The units are: Monitoring a Habitat - Introduces your students to the importance and complexities of regular monitoring of our underwater world; Tools for Exploring the Ocean -- An overview of the different ways that we monitor and explore the ocean; and Oceanography Careers -- Provides a fun and informative overview of the vast array of work that is done on and in the ocean.
