Signals of Spring DLESE Reviewed Collection
Signals of Spring engages students, working in groups, to use Earth satellite imagery to track and explain animal movement. Students conduct investigations of land and marine animals; bald eagles, sea turtles and red-tailed hawks are a few of the animals tracked in real time. The program is inquiry-based and includes lessons, classroom activities, color and black & white transparencies and special interactive, online GIS and 3-D maps and visualizations of animals and their migrations.
