Tactile Astronomy: Making the Universe Touchable DLESE Reviewed Collection
This section of Amazing Space features a library of selected Hubble images that can be printed in a tactile format. The new section features "Images of the Month" - a collection of the latest Hubble images that can be printed on a thermal paper expansion machine, thus allowing the visually impaired to feel what they cannot see. These specially prepared PDFs of Hubble images include text that describes the featured celestial object and what astronomers are learning about it. NOTE: Acrobat Reader can be used to read any of this section's PDFs aloud, including the image files. In the Reader's menu bar, go to "View/Read Out Loud" and choose "Activate Read Out Loud." Then go to "View/Read Out Loud" again, and choose the option to "Read This Page Only."
