This comic book explains the science of the upper atmosphere, and how the layer known as the ionosphere affects communication and navigation here on Earth. The story features Cindi, an android space-girl and her pet robot dogs, TEKS and TAKS. Her teenage research assistant Roberto receives her data here on Earth. Imaginary space dogs begin the tale of atoms in the upper atmosphere, both ions and neutrals, and the tale continues with the real science of ionospheric exploration. Cindi guides students through concepts including layers of the atmosphere, atoms, forces that act on neutral and electrically-charged particles, and how radio signals from satellite are bent and distorted by ?space weather.? This comic book is an educational outreach product for NASA?s ionosphere explorer, the CINDI mission.
