This summary of the Third Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change was compiled to describe the current state of understanding of the climate system as it was when the document was written in 2001. It provides estimates of the climate system's projected future evolution and the uncertainties associated with these projections. The report includes information on expected changes in the atmosphere and in snow and ice cover and ocean behavior. Cross-references to appropriate sections of the full Third Assessment Report are also provided.
