Internet Watershed Educational Tool DLESE Reviewed Collection
InterWET was created to help officials and concerned citizens about groundwater resources. Using a case study of the Spring Creek Watershed (central PA), the site gives a multi-layered view on the issues surrounding watershed use and availability. The site uses a series of webpages from three perspectives: a researcher, a conservationist, and a local official. Each page offers interactive lessons using an Internet calculator to examine the facets of this topic. The calculators show relationships between factors that impact groundwater and each water resource component involved. The calculators help explore such topics as runoff, groundwater, sediment, nutrients, and fish populations.
