This national organization is comprised of state and regional water resource management agencies and provides a means for members to exchange information and to work with federal agencies that share water management responsibilities. Focal points cover both surface and groundwater, and include watershed management, dam safety, floodplain management, nonpoint source pollution, water quality standards, water conservation, drought and emergency management, wetlands protection, state water rights, climate change, hydropower licensing, and water resource research and data. The site includes reports and testimony related to these topics as well as links to the member agencies. This organization and the website provide educators with information for exploring the wide-ranging acitivities encompassed in managing water and the role that various agencies play in these activities.
