The National Organization for Rivers sponsors this page and provides information on water-based recreation and conservation. They are building a River Registry to provide an overview of rivers in each state as well as around the world. The registry includes physical characteristics, recreation opportunities and legal and policy information. The Who Owns the Rivers section provides a bibliography of river-related case law, information on river navigation history and a discussion component called Ask the Attorney. The site also includes information about the U.S. River Conservation Team and guidance for individuals to contribute to river protection efforts. Videos and books are for sale as well.
