This is the homepage of the Circumpolar Arctic Eco-Regions project, an initiative to develop an ecoregion map for the entire Circumpolar Arctic. Analogue and digital mapped information gathered for the project covers such subjects as bedrock and surficial geology, land surface forms, climate, hydrology, wildlife, land use/land cover, and cultural and ecological regionalization. Site materials include an overview of the project, metadata descriptions of paper and digital maps (including the Atlas of the Arctic, a collection of maps which contain information about natural and socio-economic processes and phenomena in the whole, or in the separate parts, of the Circumpolar Arctic), and a list of maps and digital datasets, and links to the maps, where available.

UNEP/GRID-Arendal grants permission to Users to visit the Site and to download and copy the information, documents and materials (collectively, "Materials") from the Site, under the following condition: UNEP/GRID-Arendal is clearly credited in such use of the Materials as the source of the Materials.
