Orion's Quest
Orion's Quest is a subscription-based educational program that provides students with an opportunity to work with scientists conducting research in space. The program, conducted in association with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), features a standards-based curriculum that leads to a classroom experiment or project. Future activities will be in support of research being conducted in microgravity aboard the Space Shuttle or the International Space Station. Students will perform a classroom experiment in coordination with a duplicate experiment that is simultaneously being conducted in space. Experiments in space will be downlinked by video to the classroom, providing students with microgravity data with which to compare their 'ground control' experiment. Teachers are provided with personal pages within the website for support and communication. The site also features information on current and past missions. Registration and log-in are required for both teachers and students.
