Tornado Paths Map Viewer (title provided or enhanced by cataloger)
This interactive map allows users to plot the paths of all tornadoes in the United States from 1950 to 2004. Maps can be generated by zooming and panning the viewer, selecting a specific date, or by entering a ZIP code. Tornadoes are represented by icons. Clicking on an icon accesses additional information about the storm, including day and date, time, Fujita scale intensity, injuries and fatalities, and physical measurements such as length, width, and affected area. With the proper software and files, it is also possible to fly the paths that individual storms traced as they traveled across the country.
