SouthEast U.S. Atlantic Coastal Ocean Observing System (SEACOOS)
SEACOOS is a collaborative university partnership that collects, manages, and disseminates integrated regional ocean observations and information products for the coasts of North and South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Materials include data such as near real-time and time series ocean observations, modeling products, and ocean condition forecasts. Educational materials include the Virtual Hurricane Classroom, which features activities, lesson plans, web references, and other resources; and SeaMaven, a prototype virtual learning tool designed to engage middle school science students in the exploration of environmental science. There is also Fish Match, a game in which students try to identify sea life from video clips, the Virtual Waves Classroom, and links to Powerpoint presentations, posters, and brochures.
