Satellite Oceanography
This presentation gives students information about all aspects of satellite oceanography. It explains how the satellites are launched into orbit and how the orbit is maintained, the difference between polar orbiting and geostationary satellites, and the difference between active and passive observation. Other topics include how satellites gather data on sea surface temperature, air-sea interactions, sea ice patterns, ocean waves, sea level variations, currents and eddies, biological productivity, and precipitation patterns.
