The creators of this site have selected photographs to illustrate the variations in shape and size of volcanoes. Photos are organized into world regions and subcategorized into countries. Many of the pictures were taken by astronauts who were orbiting the Earth on the Space Shuttle. In addition to photos, each entry includes textual descriptions as well as a list of references.
