Seismic Waves and Eruptions (title provided or enhanced by cataloger)
This page offers two pieces of software that produce visualizations of seismicity, volcanic activity and wave propagation. The Seismic Waves program displays waves propagating out from the epicenter simultaneously on three-dimensional and cross-sectional views of the earth. These two views are synchronized with actual event waveforms so that as a particular phase arrives at a seismic station, one sees the effect on the seismogram. The Seismic/Eruption program includes a number of pre-defined maps which illustrate seismicity in various parts of the earth and allows users to update earthquakes (via the Internet) to within an hour or so of real time.
