The purpose of this lesson is to increase students' awareness of the need for solid waste management. They will become aware of the types of materials discarded in the environment, identify and classify types of materials, learn to predict and evaluate information, work cooperatively in groups to process information, and make decisions about further actions to be taken concerning solid waste management.
