The AskERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) lesson plan collection contains more than 2000 unique lesson plans which have been written and submitted to AskERIC by teachers from all over the United States and the world. These geology lesson plans give the grade level, teacher who submitted the lesson, subject, overview of lesson, concepts covered, purpose, teaching objectives, materials needed, activities and procedures, assessment methods, and additional resources. Topics these lessons cover include rocks, minerals, earthquakes, topography, volcanoes, earth's layers, karst, watersheds, and more.

AskERIC's lesson plan collection exists for the benefit of educational practitioners-please use them in your teaching activities and adapt them for your classroom as necessary. It is also acceptable to link to a lesson plan from your own or your school's web site without express permission. Please be aware, however, that ownership of most lesson plans included in AskERIC's collection are retained by the lesson plan author. Requests for permission to use the lessons in situations other than classroom practice or outside accepted educational fair use guidelines must be made to the author noted on the lesson plan. This includes requests to reproduce or redistribute lesson plans in publications or other media. AskERIC does have the authority to grant permission for the above uses for a select few lesson plans.
