This Student Activity Worksheet is part of the San Jose State University ALERT K-12 module, Plate Tectonics, Part 2. The module introduces students to volcanoes. Students use latitude and longitude to plot recent volcanic eruptions on a global map. They may optionally locate recent volcanism from Internet resources. Students then assess the global distribution of volcanic activity and the risk of volcanism globally and where they live. Finally, students are asked to compare the global map of recent volcanic eruptions with that of recent earthquake activity from the Plate Tectonics, Part 1 module.
