Administrative fields overview

The purpose is to describe administrative details about the catalog record generated for the resource. The is often referred to as cataloger/ collection builder provided required metadata.

• Cataloger - please see the Creator-cataloger fields overview on the left menu
• Identification number - a number for tracking metadata records within a collection (e.g. DLESE-000-000-000-123); required metadata as free text
• Catalog name - the name of the catalog to which the identification number belongs; required metadata as free text
• Date - date information about the metadata record that includes:
  • Created - the date the metadata records came into existence; required metadata
  • Accessioned - the date the metadata record is accepted into a collection; required metadata
  • Modified - the most recent date and time the metadata record was changed
• Status - the level of acceptance of a metadata record within its collection (e.g. accessioned, holding, working); required metadata with a controlled vocabulary
• Language - the language of the metadata; required metadata with a controlled vocabulary from the W3C
• Scheme - the metadata scheme used to catalog the resource; required metadata with a controlled term as specified by DLESE
• Copyright - a statement regarding ownership of the metadata; required metadata as free text
• Terms of use - a list of conditions on how the metadata may be used, transferred or shared; required metadata as free text
